彌賽亞The Messiah，救世主，德國作家韓德爾永垂不朽名曲，他自幼喜愛音樂，七歲就會演奏風琴，十一歲會寫奏鳴曲與教會音樂，12歲到義大利遊學，遇見柯賴里.史卡拉弟，對他的影響很多，後來移居倫敦，寫歌劇獲得好評，但他轉而寫神劇更獲得大成功〞彌賽亞〞是他最好的作品，在1741年寫作劇本取材自聖經，分三部份，第一部講述基督誕生的預言，第二部是基督受難昇天，第三部寫基督以信心救恤世人，內容有獨唱，合唱，管弦樂曲，非常龐大的演唱與演奏，據說當時韓德爾寫到最偉大的〞哈利路亞〞這段時他自己也激動得淚流滿眶，站立起來說我看到天門開了！而在首演觀賞的國王聽到這一段時也肅立起敬向偉大的天父致禮，特別是英國的教會在〞聖誕節〞都要演唱本曲，也是最成功的神劇，以抒情調，合唱，朗頌調，綜合了莊嚴神聖，美如天使之頌歌，並且留傳至今永受到全世界最多人喜愛的神曲。本片由英國劍橋合唱團及皇家愛樂演奏等的演出。共136分鐘。指揮家約翰盧特致力所有宗教合唱音樂不遺餘力，他的創作聖樂都是愛樂友的最愛，錄音在2007年三月的倫敦Gospel Oak大教堂中，是最莊嚴，最神聖，最好聽的神劇經典曲。
