1942年出生於紐約布魯克林的Carole King四歲時便開始彈鋼琴，大學時曾組過樂團，不過其是以詞曲創作的身份初入樂壇並嶄露頭角，與其第一任丈夫Gerry Goffin是詞曲創作的最佳黃金組合，1987年兩人一同榮獲Natiional Academy of Songwriters終身成就獎，1990年同時引薦進入詞曲創作及搖滾名人殿堂。Carole King除了詞曲創作的成就之外，1971年其以歌手身份發行的專輯「Tapestry」更是大獲好評，專輯停留排行榜上長達302週，其中還包括15週的冠軍王座，於隔年的葛萊美獎頒獎典禮上更是出盡鋒頭，成為第一位女性囊獲「年度最佳專輯」、「年度最佳唱片(It’s Too Late)」、「年度最佳歌曲(You’ve Got A Friend)」、「年度最佳流行樂女歌手」等四項大獎，全球專輯銷售量超過一千萬張。

37年過去，卡洛金這張專輯現在聽來還是一張無懈可擊的傑作，猶如陳年好酒一樣愈陳愈香，歲月不減其音樂魅力，許多人就在這張專輯的影響下創作了許多好歌，織錦畫在流行音樂史的地位相信是無法可以被取代的。

With the release of Tapestry in 1971, Carole King struck a chord with listeners around the world, earning four Grammy Awards and three Top 20 hits with her unforgettable album.

The Hyde Park performance, recorded on July 3, 2016, is Carole`s first British concert since 1989 and features Carole leading a full band (including rhythm guitarist Danny Kortchmar, who played on the original Tapestry album) through each of the albums 12 songs plus her favorite compositions from her impressive songbook. Guest performers include her daughter, Louise Goffin, who joins her mother on several tracks including "Where You Lead" (which the duo re-recorded as the theme song to the popular television series Gilmore Girls), plus the Laurence Olivier Award-winning West End cast of "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical."
