融合了搖滾、民謠、藍調、古典等類型的精髓，加上玄奧、超現實甚至帶點古怪意味的歌詞，可說是搖滾史上最具特色的樂團之一Jethro Tull，紀念1980年專輯《A》發行40週年，以3CD+3DVD方式重新問世。專輯名稱《A》取自Ian Andeson姓氏的字母A而來，本來預計是Ian的個人專輯，但唱片公司仍希望以Jethro Tull發行推出。這時團員除了Ian及吉他手Martin Barre，其他都是新成員，包含了天才小提琴手兼鍵盤樂器手Eddie Jobson(曾參與 Curved Air、Roxy Music、UK、Frank Zappa 等團體)。也因為Eddie緣故，專輯較以往更偏向電子合成器基調的演出，〈Crossfire〉、〈Fylingdale Flyer〉、〈Working John Working Joe〉是其中代表作。也仍然有早期民謠取向的 〈The Pine Marten`s Jig〉佳作。
